It’s December now and the weather is trying to catch up with the month. Now that it’s turned colder I find that I want to eat more. So I do! To help fill me up at lunchtimes and warm me up too, I’ve started taking in homemade soup to work.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been trying out some interesting combinations to make lunchtimes more appealing. All have the added bonus of contributing well towards my SixFix. They certainly make a change from Tomato & Basil or Potato & Leek!

Once I’ve made a batch of soup, I divide between plastic tubs and freeze. Then I can chose which flavour I fancy rather than having to eat the same batch for 4 days running. Although I have a microwave available at work there’s usually a queue so I heat my soup at home and pour into a Thermos flask.

My 3 new soup recipes all include some sort of protein, meaning that I can just serve with bread for a filling lunch:

Moroccan Chicken Soup

Butter Bean and Chorizo Soup

Curried Lentil Soup

Give them a try and let me know what you think!
